Before...

  • Please make sure your hair is at least ½ cm long at your appointment
  • want an even better result? Moisturize daily and exfoliate once or twice a week
  • if you’re scared of a bit of pain take some pain relief before you come in – it may help
  • don’t do anything to make your skin sensitive before your appointment
  • solariums, sunbaking, picking at your skin, do a heavy work-out etc during...
  • please be on time – it is courteous to the other clients who are…
  • let me know if you have any allergies or if you’re using any vitamin a, lighteners, AHA’s or anything that could create a reaction
  • tell me about bad experiences with waxing in the past or if there is a particular way you would like something waxed
  • always feel free to check over my work, it’s mostly perfect but you never know!
  • ask questions!


After...

  • you may be a little red and blotchy, it may not look normal but it is a normal reaction! It won’t last long so don’t worry…

  • try to wear some loose clothing and chill out - your skin can then relax and adjust.

  • As you wax more regularly your skin will get used to the process

  • here are the do not’s for the next 24-48hrs….. go to the beach, solarium, have a hot shower, exfoliate, wear tight clothing or hard work outs

  • make sure you wear comfy loose clothing to allow your skin to breathe

  • don’t forget to moisturize daily – there are fantastic moisturizers to help so feel free to grab some when you’re in

  • if you’re prone to in-growns ask how you can avoid them


The first treatment can often be painful, particularly if you have been shaving.

This is because shaving has enlarged the bulb at the base of the hair shaft. Remember that the hair grows, rests, then grows again, so it takes about twelve weeks for shaven hair to be replaced with natural hair, therefore it takes two or three waxes before you 'settle in' to natural hair growth. After this time you will experience only minimal discomfort from waxing....
